Parent Teacher Conferences

Thank you so much for attending your child’s conference and all your support from home this first trimester.  Research has shown that kids do much better in school when their parents play an active role in their education.  A little of your time – every day – makes a big difference.  Parents who ask daily about school and check over schoolwork send a powerful message about the value of learning.  We appreciate all you do to support your children!

A note from our district...

ELA Report Card

Dear Families:

As shared at Back to School Night, we are piloting new ELA instructional materials in grades K-5. This resource offers a rigorous, knowledge building approach for our learners, engaging students in reading, writing, listening and speaking. While our commitment to addressing essential ELA standards has not changed, the order and manner in which standards are assessed in this pilot may be different than in past years. As such, you may not see a reported measure for every ELA standard on your child’s report card. Please also refer to the comments provided by your child’s teacher, as well as ongoing communication and conferencing, regarding your child’s progress in ELA. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Social Studies Test Friday!

We are nearing the end of Chapter 2, Michigan's First People. Please be on the look out for a study guide to come home on Tuesday (purple paper). Please review this information with your child so they are ready for Friday's test.

Math Unit 3 Home Resources

We are beginning Unit 3, Addition and Subtraction within 1,000, this week.  In this unit, students

use their understanding of place value to round whole numbers and to add and subtract within 1,000. They also solve two-step problems. Check out the family support video!
