Math Unit 2 Update
Over the past few weeks, we have been learning about area and how area relates to multiplication. We learned that the area of a shape is the amount of space it covers and we practiced tiling shapes with squares. We then began to make the connection that we can find area by counting the number of rows and multiply that number by the number in each row. We are working on measuring rectangles and are exploring the idea that area is length x width. We will continue to learn about figures that are composed of rectangles and how we can decompose those rectangles to determine area. To learn more and to practice with your child at home, check out the following resources.
We will have a test over this material this Friday.
